Two weeks on since the Outlander season seven finale and fans are still racking their brains for theories on the identity of Faith – Claire and Jamie’s first daughter.

The episode ended with it being heavily hinted (but not confirmed) that Claire and Jamie’s first daughter, Faith Fraser, actually lived and didn’t die at birth.

In the final scene, Fanny Pocock (Florrie May Wilkinson) was discovered by Claire singing a song which immediately caught Claire’s attention.

It was the same exact song she sang to her stillborn baby, Faith convincing her she somehow survived and gave birth to Jane and Fanny, who would be Claire’s grandchildren.

Fans who will remember the episode of Faith’s birth will recall that in series 2, Master Raymond looked after Claire following the childbirth and told her that Faith had been taken away to be buried and then later Claire and Jamie visited her grave in Paris.

The shocking revelation has sent fans into overdrive as they come up with various theories on who Faith was.

However, now a new theory has come to light that maybe fellow time traveller Geillis Duncan could be Faith after Claire discovered a drawing of her inside Jane’s locket – and the resemblance is striking.

Geillis is a time-traveller who killed her husband in the 20th century in order to travel back to the 1700s in an effort to change the course of Scotland’s history. She met protagonist and fellow time-traveller Claire in the first season, where the two bonded over their shared interest in herbs.

It is not until the season’s 11th episode, when Claire and Geillis are on trial for witchcraft, that Claire discovers Geillis’ true identity after seeing her smallpox vaccination scar.

She saves Claire’s life and is sentenced to death – though is eventually able to escape.

One fan shared a side by side picture of the locket and Geillis and wrote: “Faith is Geillis.”

However this post caused a frenzy between fans.

A fan theory has caused a frenzy online

One wrote: “OMG stop with this nonsense! That’s ridiculous!”

Another said: “Makes absolutely no sense.”

While one wrote: “Faith is so not Gellis.”

Another commented: “I dont think so…i hope not. We will just have to watch and see.”

However, some thought it could be true: “What IF!!!???? That would be mind blowing….”

Another made a point: “This could be really interesting. She could also be the 200 year old baby instead of Brianna. I’d assume master Raymond would have brought faith to the future right away.

“And perhaps she had these two after having buck, and left them before going where she went (had them be told she was dead?). Then there is the twist that Claire was initially friends with her and ended up killing her.

“To think that the daughter she loved and grieved would also be her biggest enemy. Both Jane and Fanny are great kids. This would be similar to Laoghaire with her daughter being kind. Idk. I think it’s a really interesting twist.”
