Sarpsborg have rejected Celtic‘s bid for winger Sondre Orjasaeter, according to a report.

HailHail.com claim that the Hoops have seen a £4.6million bid for the wide man booted out by the Norwegian outfit. They are reluctant to sell their star man during this window and are holding out for at least £7million before considering sanctioning his departure. The Premiership champions are looking to upgrade in the wide areas, although Luis Palma’s departure to Olympiacos may hinge on them being able to bring someone else in first.

One player who won’t be arriving in January is Kieran Tierney. Brendan Rodgers confirmed this week that a pre-contract agreement is in place to bring the Scotland star back to Parkhead this summer. Celtic were hoping to secure a loan deal this month and bring Tierney to Glasgow ahead of schedule. But Mikel Arteta has blocked that, wanting to keep Tierney around his squad as cover and for his leadership qualities.

Now Rodgers will look at loan alternatives until the summer. Greg Taylor is the only recognise left back on the books with Alex Valle back at Barcelona ahead of making the move to Como in Serie A. Man Utd’s Tyrell Malacia is reportedly an option. The Dutchman is still getting back to full fitness after over a year out with injury and could be available.

Meanwhile, former Celt Stuart Armstrong is on the move again. He joined old Dundee United teammate Ryan Gauld at Vancouver Whitecaps in the summer after leaving Southampton.

But reports in Canada claim that he is on the verge of signing Sheffield Wednesday. Whitecaps are willing to terminate Armstrong’s contract in order to facilitate the move.
