While leaks surrounding today’s update (January 31) have been relatively scarce, players can look forward to a few exciting surprises once the servers are back online. One of the biggest highlights is the return of the fan-favorite Tilted Towers, making its debut in the final update of Chapter 6 Season 1, which wraps up on Thursday, February 20, Mirror reports.
Along with that nostalgic landmark, players can expect to see the return of Small Shield Potions and Boogie Bombs, along with a fresh batch of skins and cosmetics. Along with the return of iconic locations, players can also look forward to a brand-new Fortnite OG Battle Pass, packed with exciting skins we’ve been eagerly waiting for. When the servers go live again, the map will be home to a host of returning points of interest (POIs).
Fans of classic locations can expect to revisit favorites like Tilted Towers, Snobby Shores, Shifty Shafts, Junk Junction, and Haunted Hills. Plus, the Moisty Mire biome makes a nostalgic return as part of the Fortnite OG Season 2 map changes.
Once Fortnite servers are back online and the update v33.30 goes live, you’ll be able to drop into the action and explore all these exciting changes. So, here’s when the servers are down and when you can jump back into the game.
Is Fortnite down?
Fortnite servers have officially gone live following a brief downtime for the v33.30 update, which started earlier today. As confirmed by the @FortniteStatus Twitter account, servers went offline at 1am PST / 4am EST / 9am GMT on Friday, January 31, with matchmaking disabled about 30 minutes prior.
While downtime typically spans three to four hours, today’s maintenance was much quicker than expected. The Epic Games status website indicated the servers would return sooner, with the downtime wrapping up after just two and a half hours, in line with the swift update v33.20 earlier this month.
Now, with all services operational, players can jump back into the game and enjoy the highly anticipated Fortnite OG Season 2 update, including the return of classic POIs and a fresh Battle Pass.
