A mystery Scot has bagged a whopping £1 million in a National Lottery draw after matching five numbers plus the bonus ball.

The man, known only as Mr. G from Lanarkshire, is keeping his identity secret after scooping the cash in the Lotto draw on Saturday, January 11.

Mr. G was one of two Lotto players who won in the draw, as well as a very lucky ticket-holder who won the £4M jackpot prize.

The Lanarkshire local, who played via the National Lottery website, has become one of over nine million players that win each week on The National Lottery’s range of games.

Interactive winners have the opportunity to release their name, remain anonymous or like this winner, release some details through partial publicity.

Andy Carter, Senior Winners’ Advisor at Allwyn, operator of The National Lottery, said, “Wow, what exciting news for Mr. G, who is now a million pounds richer. What a lovely way to start the year. Huge congratulations!”

Earlier this week we reported how a mystery UK EuroMillions winner had landed the £83m jackpot but was yet to claim the huge prize.

Organisers are urging the public to check their numbers in case they scooped the life-changing prize before they miss out.

Lottery operator Allwyn is waiting for the winner to come forward and claim £83,474,081.80 following the EuroMillions draw last Friday. The winning numbers were 2, 11, 19, 30 and 49 and the two Lucky Stars numbers were 3 and 8.

The win clinched by the unsuspecting winner somewhere in the country is the largest of the year so far, and lottery bosses are “waiting with baited breath” for the claimant to come forward.
