Gender reveals have been soaring in popularity, as expectant parents revel in the milestones leading up to their child’s arrival to the world.
While confetti cannons and cupcake reveals are common choices for unveiling a baby’s sex, one mum-to-be has concocted an inventive way to share the secret.
She designed a ‘Where’s Wally?’ picture using AI tech, challenging friends to spot clues hidden within it that disclose whether she’s expecting a boy or girl. A bewildered buddy lamented on Reddit: “My friend is having a baby but refuses to tell me the gender.”
“She wants to do an ‘interactive’ gender reveal and sent me an AI generated Where’s Waldo with the answer hidden somewhere inside. I’ve been searching for days and can’t figure it out but did find Waldo’s with no hands.” Struggling to find the answer, the woman turned to social media for help, skyrocketing her plea to viral status.
One commenter proposed: “Just tell her congrats on having a boy, tell everyone else that is stuck too. She’ll either have to confirm or start telling to refute you.” Another suggested: “I love the where’s Waldo only because I was fantastic at these and loved them but doing one as a way to figure out a gender for someone is bizarre as hell. Maybe send her one back saying this is your answer but have it be something that’s not even included in the photo.”
While other users dedicated their time to meticulously examining the image for any hints about the baby’s gender, one exasperated user commented: “There’s no pink. It’s a boy. Or she’s having a guy with a suitcase handle stuck up his butt. One or the other. Just congratulate her on having a Waldo and walk away.”
Another suggested a tech-savvy approach: “Screenshot it and put it into ChatGPT. Ask it to decode the Where’s Waldo. Fight AI with AI.” A different user observed: “Has anyone actually looked at the picture. Everyone and everything looks like a terrifying monster. It’s like a bad trip. I don’t see how the answer is in there unless she’s having a monster baby.”
Yet, another user claimed victory in the search, revealing: “It’s a boy, I found it, bottom right corner below the table. It took me less than five minutes – pure coincidence. I found it it’s white text on the floor that says ‘It’s a boy! ‘.”
