A police investigation is under way after badger setts were disturbed near a Scots village.
The animals are a protected species but it is believed setts were disturbed near Castle Kennedy, Dumfries and Galloway, between December and January.
Stranraer community policing’s Constable McGregor, who is also a wildlife crime officer, is appealing for information.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “If anyone has any information in relation to this incident, please contact Police on 101 quoting reference PS-20241204-2328.”
Under the Protection of Badger Act 1992, it is a crime to kill, injure or disturb a badger.
