Tommy Fury’s ex-girlfriend sent Molly-Mae Hague a stark warning about the boxer as she advised ‘be careful and don’t ignore red flags’ before the former Love Island couple’s shock split last year.
Molly-Mae and Tommy first met on the ITV dating show in 2019 but before his reality TV stint, the 25-year-old had been in a long-term relationship with influencer Millie Roberts from Manchester.
Tommy is said to have applied for the show after their two year relationship came to an end with Millie issuing a public warning to Molly about her ‘controlling’ ex.
After Tommy and Molly finished up in third place on the show, Millie told The Sun in 2019: “I would say to Molly be careful and don’t ignore the warning signs.
“He’s very good at talking, he’s very smooth and calming, he would talk his way out of any situation. Don’t ignore red flags when they come up.
“He will talk his way out of it. He would lie about where he was every weekend, he would say he was with his granddad but he wouldn’t be, he’d be out and staying in hotel rooms.”
When asked if she believed Tommy would remain committed to Molly-Mae once the show was over, Millie replied: “History says he won’t be loyal. He would lie all the time to me. I hope he’s learnt from his mistakes.”
Millie has also claimed that the boxer was very “aggressive” and would make “nasty” comments about his appearance.
She said: “He’s really controlling. Whenever I would go out and if I wasn’t home by midnight he would text me ‘We’re done,’ ‘It’s over, on my mum’s life’ ‘you dirty cheat, you f***ing slipped up’ ‘I want nothing to do with you’ – he’s aggressive in how he talks to people.
“If another guy looked at me on a night out it would be a big kicking and screaming situation and if I stayed late at work he would accuse me of sleeping with someone.”
She recalled one particular situation: “I went to Marbella on a trip with my friend who’s a social media influencer, that was the worst time of my life.
“He was so nasty and horrible to me the whole time I was on holiday – because I was in a bikini. I hated it. He was so nasty.
“He said to me ‘You’re just a f***ing scruff from Salford, ‘don’t think you’re one of them’ ‘when you come back home you’ll come down to earth’ ‘you’re a nobody Millie’ – all because I was on this trip and getting attention.”
Molly-Mae and Tommy shocked fans when they announced their shock split last August, just one year after the boxer got down in one knee in a romantic Ibiza proposal.
In a statement at the time, the Maebe owner wrote: “Never in a million years did I think I’d ever have to write this. After five years of being together I never imagined our story would end, especially not this way.
“I am extremely upset to announce that mine and Tommy’s relationship has come to an end. I will forever be grateful for the most important thing to me now and always, my beautiful daughter.”
The couple are still in regular communication as they co-parent their two-year-old daughter Bambi but fans are convinced the former fiancées will get back together.
In her Amazon Prime documentary, Molly Mae: Behind It All, the 25-year-old confessed that her ‘only hope’ was for her and Tommy to get back together.
She further admitted she had ‘never wanted to break up with him’ and hated that Bambi was from a broken home but felt she had no choice at the time.
The pair have now both shut down speculation that Tommy had been unfaithful to the beauty influencer after months of speculation that he had slept with another woman, revealing that the split had actually been down to the boxer’s drinking habits.
