Investigator Mark Williams-Thomas, who played a role in the search for Jay Slater, hinted on social media that he holds crucial information that provides “gives clarity” to the unfortunate case.

Jay Slater, an apprentice bricklayer, disappeared while attending a music festival in Tenerife on June 17. His body was found nearly a month later on July 15 close to the village of Masca, not far from where he was last seen.

At the time the 19 year old from Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire. went missing, Williams-Thomas committed to finding answers for the family and has once more commented publicly about the case. Additionally, Williams-Thomas hinted at a possible documentary regarding the disappearance.

In a social media message, he shared: “When I covered the Jay Slater case I did film lots of material to show how the investigation was unfolding.”, reports the Mirror.

He continued: “I also have recordings with witnesses that provide context and information which gives clarity and a clear narrative to the very sad situation and the events as they unfolded that night and morning. The case continues to draw significant interest and is sure to receive even more upon the release of a programme (which I am not involved with).”

A response came from one individual urging Williams-Thomas to be straightforward: “Stop speaking in riddles and give the public the info you are apparently holding back.”

This month, a post on Facebook revealed that Jay Slater’s grieving mother had commissioned a special tribute to her son, who passed away in Tenerife. A local business, ‘Homemade With Love Oswaldtwistle’, had transformed his favourite clothes into heartfelt cushions.

The post stated: “Forever 19. All of my work touches my heart, but I must admit this one really touched me.”

“I was honoured to be asked by Jay’s Mum to make these cushions, using his favourite clothes. I hope they bring comfort to each person receiving them. Each one had a personalised memory patch added. Thank you so much Debbie for entrusting me to make these for you. Sending so much love.”

A fundraising campaign on GoFundMe had previously raised £72,821, which helped cover costs including a search team and the family’s stay in Tenerife during the search efforts. The donations also enabled the family to give Jay a “truly deserved… send-off” at his funeral in August.

In a message, Jay’s loved ones expressed their gratitude, saying: “With your support we were able to stay in Tenerife until we got our beautiful boy back to the UK.”
