Livingston FC condemned a supporter who shared an alleged racist remark on social media.
The Livi side closed the gap on league leaders Falkirk by travelling to the Bairns and leaving victorious after a hard fought 2-1 win.
It is believed the incident took place on a post shared by the Livingston FC social media team who were giving regular updates on their channels, reports Edinburgh Live.
The club confirmed that they were aware of the alleged abuse and stated that they were saddened and angered by the post which they described as being ‘racially aggravated’ and targeted at a member of their first team.
The club have now reportedly launched an investigation and will be seeking the strictest punishment possible for the alleged culprit.
In a statement on X, the club said: “The club are aware, saddened and angered at racially aggravated posts aimed at a member of our first team squad this evening.
“The club will be investigating and pushing for the strongest punishment possible.”
Police Scotland have been approached for comment.
