Red Bull Salzburg’s sports director Rouven Schroder has left the door open for midfielder Bobby Clark to leave the club amid reported interest from Rangers.

The 19-year-old left Liverpool behind last summer in a £6million move to Austria to work under former Anfield assistant manager Pep Lijnders – who has since been shown the door for Salzburg. Since the appointment of Thomas Letsch, the prospect has struggled for regular game time and has mainly been limited to appearances off the bench with clubs in Britain now said to be ramping up their interest with Philippe Clement‘s men said to be considering a late loan move.

Going into the final hours of the window, Schroder admitted that no departures were off the table with the clock ticking. He told Krone Zeitung: “Players who got less playing time in the autumn are now looking to get a new chance. We feel and see that the group has a lot of potential.

“Every day we think about the squad and how good individual players are. Basically, we look at all positions very closely. No player is indispensable. But in the end, we examine the entire market and find out.”

Elsewhere, Rangers could have their resolve tested over keeping Ianis Hagi before business is done on February 3. Hagi was frozen out of Clement’s squad at the start of this season due to a wage rise clause in his contract if he played another game.

Rangers and the player’s representatives were able to compromise on the deal, allowing Hagi to be part of the manager’s plans again. And now, the 26-year-old has established himself as a key player for Clement.

However, an extension has yet to be triggered and Record Sport understands no alternative proposal is on the table at this stage. La Gazzetta Dello Sport report that Genoa owner Dan Sucu is considering a late approach for the playmaker having been “interested in the player for some time” and would offer him the chance to be a “cornerstone” at the Serie A club.
