BLUEFIELD, W.Va. – On Saturday, Feb. 1, the City of Bluefield kicked off Black History Month with a fashion show that showcased both history and culture.

The City of Bluefield hosted its first “Timelessness Through the Decades” Fashion Show on the first day of Black History Month. The event took locals on a journey, celebrating eras of black fashion, as well as honoring important cultural moments.

Brown also explained that events like this create an important sense of togetherness within the community.

The Executive Assistant to the Bluefield City Manager, Felicia Holcomb, said that while this is the show’s first year, it will return bigger and better for years to come.

“It’s just amazing, it’s growing, and this is what needs to be celebrated, I mean it’s—it’s just wonderful,” said Holcomb.
