Kilmarnock boss Derek McInnes says he expects a quiet transfer deadline day both in terms of players arriving and leaving the club.

Liverpool loanee Calvin Ramsay has been the extent of their January shopping with the Rugby Park gaffer admitting it’s unlikely they’ll be bringing any more bodies into the club.

And he says he’s not expecting to lose anyone, either, with the likes of Danny Armstrong and Bobby Wales attracting interest as they approach the final few months of their contracts.

McInnes said: “The long and short of it is we’re still making calls, knocking on doors and asking questions. We need to have an ability to react but I’m not expecting us to lose anybody because we’re a bit stretched at the minute.

“We’ll probably let one of two younger ones go out on loan. The board have been really supportive but I believe if everyone was fit we’d not be looking to do anything. I think we have the answers in the building, although in the current circumstances we do have some key players missing.”

He added: “I wouldn’t want to bring someone to the club just to sit on the bench. We’ll try hard to bring a body in, but we can’t make those promises, unfortunately. Nobody can, really, unless you’re spending money, with the rest of us just plotting about making the same phone calls and searching in the same pond to try and get something.

“I’m not getting obsessed with bringing somebody in. I’d like to, there’s not a manager out there who wouldn’t but if we can’t we move on.”
