Another walking weekend on the Dumfries and District Rambler’s programme saw two groups venture out to enjoy the fresh air and exercise.

Nine Ramblers set out in brilliant sunny weather on Saturday’s walk from Annan to Brydekirk along the river. Lots of ducks and herons were spotted along the way and after the walk, the group ended up in a gift shop for well earned refreshments and very entertaining stories from the leader, Kevin.

The eleven strong group on Sunday visited Wanlockhead, the highest village in Scotland, however, because of strong winds and rain, the resilient walkers had poor visibility throughout the day. Sadly this meant the usually spectacular views of surrounding hills were completely obscured. Despite the atrocious weather the walkers completed the walk and felt they deserved their hot drinks and cakes at Thomas Tosh in Thornhill afterwards. Thanks go to Isabel for leading this walk.
