Bianca Censori, who turned heads with her completely see-through dress at the 2025 Grammy Awards, will reportedly not face any legal repercussions.
TMZ reported on Monday that sources from the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed no formal complaints were made about Kanye West‘s wife’s daring outfit – or lack thereof – by anyone present at the Crypto.com Arena on Sunday evening.
The sources also pointed out that the annual awards show is a private event. “While Ms. Censori’s outfit undoubtedly pushed the envelope, a charge of indecent exposure in California requires wilful public exposure of one’s genitals with the specific intent to offend or sexually arouse,” LA-based lawyer Andrea Oguntula told Page Six.
“It’s theoretically possible but unlikely she’ll face any criminal prosecution for this incident,” Oguntula added, noting it is down to the district attorney’s office to make that decision. Bianca’s nude stunt could have landed her in trouble with the law, reports the Mirror.
Under California Penal Code 314(1), indecent exposure is defined as a person “exposing his or her naked body or genitals in front of anyone who could be annoyed or offended by it.”
The law stipulates that for an act to be considered criminal, it must be both “willful and lewd” A person can be convicted of this offence if they “intentionally expose your genitals or naked body; expose yourself in front of someone who might be offended or annoyed by it; intend to direct attention to yourself; and intend to sexually gratify yourself or offend someone else when you do it.”
Kanye and Bianca certainly grabbed the limelight at the Grammys, with Bianca causing a stir in her risqué sheer mesh dress.
Kanye initially kept it understated in all black, but all eyes were on Bianca’s audacious outfit choice, which was said to possibly hint at the artwork for Kanye’s upcoming 2024 album, ‘Vultures’.
This seemingly impromptu act of exhibitionism may have been meticulously planned by Kanye, as indicated by lip-reading pro Nicola Hickling’s insights.
When the couple made their entrance, Kanye is thought to have instructed her to take off her coat to showcase her provocative attire.
After first showering his wife with compliments, Kanye purportedly said to her, “You’re making a scene now,” as photographers intensified their clicks. Bianca just nodded, after which Kanye appeared to encourage her by stating, “Make a scene, I’ll say it’ll make so much sense.”
After another nod from Bianca, Kanye prompted her to leave the coat behind and face the cameras, assuring her with, “Drop it behind you and then turn, I got you.”
Bianca replied with an eager “Alright let’s go,” as interpreted by experts. The moment Bianca made waves in the media was when she removed her coat, revealing her nude form beneath, leaving spectators astounded.
This bold act didn’t resonate well with viewers, sparking rumours that the couple was ‘escorted out’ of the awards. Viewers watching the live stream expressed their unease, describing the stunt as ‘creepy and disturbing’ and calling for repercussions against the duo.
Additionally, a young child was spotted peeking from the edge of the red carpet, his face a blend of worry and bewilderment at the public display. Social media site X, formerly Twitter, was alive with fiery discussion about the ordeal.
Some even speculated on the child’s imminent meme status. One viewer deplored: “the fact that it’s okay for Bianca Censori and Kanye to do that in front of the child behind them in line….wow,” while another bemoaned: “It’s sad a child had to see this raunchy outfit by Bianca. Kanye has to be stopped by women right group in the US.”
