Young Wishaw media stars of the future are being asked to sign up to an exciting new project.

The town’s YMCA have successfully secured funding for the project and this month WYTV will begin production focusing on the history of Wishaw and its town centre.

The project kicks-off on Saturday, February 15, from noon to 3.30pm and will last for 16 weeks.

Writing on its Facebook, Wishaw YMCA state: “WYTV is a brand-new content creation programme for secondary school students, where you’ll work in a team to produce a series of videos about Wishaw town centre which will be posted on YouTube.

“Work in a creative team, brainstorming and bringing ideas to life; learn video production skills, from filming to editing; share your work with the world on YouTube; make new friends and boost your confidence.

“Parents – this is a great chance for your young creators to gain hands-on experience in media and storytelling, while discovering new skills that will serve them for years to come!
