Five people have thought to have been shot at a school in Sweden.
A “major police operation” is currently underway. The Risbergska School in Örebro has been placed on lockdown following the incident, which occurred this morning.
Multiple people have been injured. Students have reported being trapped in their classrooms, reports the Mirror.
Hospitals in Örebro, a city in southern Sweden, have been instructed to clear their emergency rooms to prepare for the arrival of those injured.
Police have warned people to stay away from the area due to a “danger to life”.
Spokesperson Sophia Jiglind said: “There is a risk or threat of deadly violence. The public must stay away from Västhaga right now.
“We are on site with a lot of resources and are appealing to the public that they must stay away. It is very important.”
According to local publication Aftonbladet, four ambulances are already at the scene, with at least two more en route.
