Gogglebox star Tom Malone Senior has shared a photo of himself in hospital, revealing he was treated with an unusual dressing for a wound – a nappy. The reality TV personality, who appears on the Channel 4 show alongside his wife and son, expressed his surprise at the unconventional treatment method in a post on Instagram.
In the photo, Malone is seen lying in a hospital bed, his arm in a sling and a large bandage over his shoulder.
Despite the unclear circumstances surrounding his hospital visit, Malone maintained a positive tone in his caption, writing: “Woke up with a nappy as a dressing, was caught off guard when the nurse said she had to change my nappy! Grateful to our NHS, top notch care Thank you, home now!”
Fans were understandably concerned by the update, with many requesting further information about what had happened. Others sent their well wishes, with comments such as “Speedy recovery.” and “Wishing you well.”
The Malone family, stalwarts of Gogglebox since the show’s fourth season, have been a fixture on our screens for over a decade, with their debut dating back to 2014. Although Tom Malone Jr left the programme in 2020, his parents Tom Snr and Julie, along with his brother Shaun, continue to entertain viewers with their candid commentary, reports the Mirror.
Away from the cameras, the Malones enjoy a significant social media presence, often giving fans a glimpse into their personal lives. On October 10, Tom and Julie took to Instagram to share a joyous occasion – their 32nd wedding anniversary.
Accompanied by a photo of their heartfelt card exchange, they expressed their happiness: “Happy Anniversary to us ! ! ! 32 years ! ! ! Kids, grandkids and not forgetting the doggies! Feeling blessed!”
Their announcement was met with an outpouring of love from their followers, with comments such as “Happy Anniversary to you both” and Adam’s message: “Happy anniversary you gorgeous pair. Hope you have another happy 32 years ahead of you. Sending love”. Others joined in the celebration, with one fan declaring them “Aw one of my fave couples on telly! Happy Anniversary guys,” and another simply wishing, “Happy Anniversary to you both.”
