Though Kanye West locked horns with Don Lemon over his attention-grabbing appearance at the 2025 Grammys, he’s remained mostly mum on the backlash regarding his wife Bianca Censori’s NSFW red carpet look.
But a co-writer for the “Jesus Walks” rapper has entered the conversation and is coming to the couple’s defense.
“I think Bianca is an adult for sure; 100% adult human that makes her own choices in conjunction with her partner,” Malik Yusef told TMZ in reaction to the controversy surrounding Censori’s mouth-dropping display of nudity Sunday night.
Others, however, were outraged by the show of self-expression in the form of a sheer dress that left very little to the imagination. Conservative pundit Meghan McCain attributed the look to a controlling Kanye, who’s notoriously known for crafting his significant others’ public appearances.
“I just want and have wanted for years — for Kanye West to leave us all the hell alone,” the Republican firebrand wrote in a since-deleted tweet during the ceremony. “He’s a repugnant, vile piece of garbage, and his wife looks like a victim and a hostage.”
Yusef meanwhile said the criticism is coming from “people who are not comfortable with themselves and they don’t have a person that they trust as a leader in their life so they question Ye’s leadership in his relationship with his wife.”
When further probed about West being misunderstood, the “Donda” contributor chalked it up to people’s own insecurities.
“I feel like they are afraid to be who they want to be and I think that Ye is unafraid to be who he wants to be,” Yusef said.
While West didn’t get too much into the weeds amid the scuttlebutt, he did take to Instagram on Tuesday to boast about Censori becoming a viral sensation.
“FOR CLARITY. MY WIFE IS THE MOST GOOGLED PERSON ON THE PLANET CALLED EARTH,” he wrote in a since-deleted post accompanied by screenshots of Google search analytics, according to E! News.
