(Gray News) – The U.S. Postal Service will continue to accept incoming packages and mail from China and Hong Kong, reversing the decision it announced on Tuesday.

The Postal Service previously said it was suspending all inbound packages from China and Hong Kong until further notice. They did not provide a reason for the suspension.

In an update posted to its website, the Postal Service said it will “continue accepting” international mail from China and Hong Kong starting Wednesday.

The statement also said that the Postal Service is working with Customs and Border Protection to implement an “efficient collection mechanism” for the new tariffs involving China.

China announced on Tuesday tariffs on select American imports in retaliation to the tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump on all Chinese imports.
