Black Sabbath have just announced one final gig with rock legend Ozzy Osbourne, as the band’s original line up – completed by Tony Lommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward – will be coming together to play at Villa Park.

The band will take to the stage at the iconic Birmingham stadium to headline ‘Back to the Beginning’ on Saturday July 5, an event which will see them play together for the first time in 20 years.

All profits from the show will be shared equally between charities Cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Acorn Children’s Hospice.

On the day, Back To The Beginning will feature sets from none other than Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, Gojira, Alice In Chains, Halestorm, Lamb Of God, Anthrax and Mastodon. Plus, there’s a supergroup of musicians also playing, including Billy Corgan, David Draiman, Duff McKagan, Frank Bello, Fred Durst, Jonathan Davis, Scott Ian, Sleep Token’s II and more.

Music Director Tom Morello said: “This will be the greatest heavy metal show ever.”

The all-star event will honour the true pioneers of heavy metal, with Ozzy Osbourne performing a short solo set before joining Black Sabbath for his final farewell.

“It’s my time to go Back to the Beginning….time for me to give back to the place where I was born,” Ozzy said.

“How blessed am I to do it with the help of people whom I love. Birmingham is the true home of metal. Birmingham Forever.”

Black Sabbath were formed in Birmingham in the 1960’s and went on to become the most successful mental bands in history, having sold over 75 million albums world wide throughout their legendary career.
