Police Scotland has appealed for information over the disappearance of a teenage girl – who vanished yesterday morning after getting off public transport.

Mackenzie Kean has not been seen since she got off a Stagecoach bus on Kilwinning Road, in the North Ayrshire town of Irvine on Wednesday morning.

Mackenzie, of Kilwinning, North Ayrshire, was last spotted at around 9.50am, and Police Scotland said today that “concerns are growing for her welfare”.

She is described as around 5ft 2ins, with long brown hair. When last seen she was wearing a black puffer style jacket, a black jumper, grey jogging bottoms and black and white trainers.

Sergeant Craig Turnbull said: “We need to make sure Mackenzie is safe and well and we are asking the public to get in touch if they have seen her or know where she might be.

The force’s appeal continued: “Anyone who can help should contact us via 101, quoting reference number 3590 of Wednesday, 5 February, 2025.”
