A person who was knocked down near a Scots high school this morning was NOT a pupil, it has been confirmed.
Police in Forth Valley said that they had attended the collision in Stirling’s Airthrey Road, near Wallace High and Stirling University, on Thursday morning.
The school’s head teacher moved quickly to squash online rumours that the victim had been a pupil.
Police have urged drivers to avoid the A9 Airthrey Road following the collision between the Causewayhead roundabout and Wallace High at around 10am.
Police later announced that the route was closed between Causewayhead roundabout and Stirling University roundabout to allow to investigations to take place.
The Wallace High Parent Teacher Network have since taken to their social media channels to share updates from the head teacher on the incident.
They posted a message from head teacher Scott Pennock. He said: “This is a brief update on an ongoing incident on Airthrey Road that is impacting on access to Wallace High until further notice.

“Sadly, a pedestrian has been injured in a road traffic incident on the main road.
“This is not a school pupil.”
The incident saw the air ambulance dispatched to the scene, landing within the school grounds.
Police have closed the road.
