A “technical issue” with the MV Glen Sannox has resulted in the cancellation of ferry services between Troon and Brodick this afternoon, Thursday, February 6.

CalMac have apologised for the inconvenience after the issue forced the cancellation of the 10.50am sailing from Troon and the 1pm sailing from Brodick.

Engineers are currently investigating the issue and an update will be provided this afternoon about the 3.10pm departure from Troon and subsequent return from Brodick.

A spokesperson for CalMac said: “Due to a technical issue that requires investigation, the following sailings operated by MV Glen Sannox are cancelled: depart Troon – 10.50am and depart Brodick – 1pm.

“We are in the process of contacting all customers who will be affected by this disruption.

“An update on today’s 3.10pm sailing from Troon will be provided at approximately 2pm.

“Disrupting a sailing is a decision we do not take lightly because we know it will inconvenience our customers and the communities we serve. We apologise for any inconvenience caused. Passenger Rights will apply. See web for more information, including how to claim.

MV Glen Sannox embarked on its maiden voyage just last month. Ferry spotters as well as members of the media joined regulars on the Arran service as it departed Troon for its first scheduled passenger service.

In total, 104 foot passengers, 23 cars, 9 commercial vehicles and 38 crew were on board the vessel as it departed.
