Scottish Championship leaders Ayr United will get an early preview of the top level as they host Hibernian in the Scottish Cup.

Scott Brown’s men soared into the fifth round after battering Perthshire side Broxburn Athletic 8-0. Ayr United are enjoying a strong 2024-25 season, and are boosted home advantage. The Honest Men have suffered just one defeat at Somerset Park across all competitions this season. The hosts are also undefeated in their last eight outings, with Friday’s matchup a true test of their credentials.

Hibs meanwhile comfortably beat Clydebank FC 3-0 in their fourth round clash and are one of the most in-form teams in the Scottish Premiership, with their recent run of results helping them to rapidly climb the table after a shaky start to the campaign. The Hibees won just two of their opening 16 league games leaving them rock bottom. However, David Gray’s men have embarked on a stunning run, remaining unbeaten in the following 10 games with seven wins and three draws. Both sides will be confident going into this one.
