Four men have been arrested in connection with large scale disorder that broke out ahead of the Old Firm League Cup final in December.
Violent scenes erupted in Glasgow city centre on Sunday, December 15. Rangers and Celtic Ultras rampaged down Argyle Street with flares and other pyrotechnic devices launched at cops.
Horrified shoppers were scene cowering in terror as two rival sets to fans faced off just days before Christmas. The carnage unfolded just hours before Rangers met Celtic at Hampden for the Premier Sports Cup Final.
Police have today confirmed that four men, aged 23, 26, 27 and 28, were all arrested and charged after officers executed warrants across Glasgow and South Lanarkshire.
They are set to be held in custody over the weekend and are scheduled to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday, February 10. Reports will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
A Police Scotland spokesperson stated: “This is an ongoing operation and enquiries are ongoing to identify and trace those involved in the disorder. I urge anyone who has any information that could assist our investigation to please attend at a local police station or contact us via 101.”
