PRINCETON, W.Va. – With the federal funding freeze temporarily blocked, some individuals and local nonprofits may be feeling uncertain when it comes to funding assistance.
WVVA reached out to the nonprofit Community Connections which told us it is currently still receiving its federal funding.
With that said, Greg Puckett, the Executive Director of the organization, is stressing that any nonprofit should always be prepared for unexpected circumstances.
“Yeah so, I think right now it’s a matter of wait and see…I think it’s a waiting game. I think we, you know, you hear a lot of speculation that’s coming out of the federal government right now, and I think one of things that we’ve said is [that] we have an obligation to the people that we serve, and how can we continue doing that without a disruption in any way shape or form,” said Puckett.
Puckett also added that all local nonprofits should be ready to communicate and justify their need for federal funding.
