It comes as the high street retailer has launched the offer across a wide selection of perfumes online, allowing shoppers to bag their favourite scent for less. The deal covers a wide palette of scents from major brands including Clinique, L’Occitane and Elizabeth Arden.

Estée Lauder’s Youth-Dew has been described as an “absolutely captivating” scent that boasts notes of opulent flowers, spices and precious woods. When it first debuted, it was initially sold as a bath oil, but its “timeless” scent was so popular women began wearing it every day.

One devoted fan said: “Always reliable everyone asked what am I wearing can’t believe I have been wearing it all these years from the age of 16 to 73 it has such a luxurious scent as are all Estée Lauder fragrances and cosmetics packaging and items always delightful to give or receive.”

Another nostalgic review read: “I first discovered Youth Dew on Day 1 at university. The boys all loved it! So did I and asked for some for Christmas 1971. I still wear it at least 4 days a week. Not only do I still love it, but so do my husband and family. It still reminds me of 1971!”

Someone else agreed: “Beautiful fragrance, never gets ‘old’. Nothing like it on the market today x.”

Another M&S shopper added: “Ive been using Youth Dew since I was 16 years old Im now 62 and it continues to be my all time favorite..”

A few loyal fans have wondered if the scent has changed over time, as one review read: “Very disappointed, the scent is much more subtle, it is lighter, no oil at all, not the same. You have to use a lot more and still I don’t think it produces the same scent.”
