The UK has been hit with a significant drop in temperature, prompting many to wrap up warm in layers of scarves, hats and cosy duffel coats.

One brand that has become renowned for its warm and reliable coats is Uniqlo. With its winter sale still available, it poses an opportunity to nab one for the colder weather for less.

For instance, the Seamless Down Short Coat is now on offer for £99.90, down from its regular £149.90, cutting £50 off the RRP. This down-filled coat is available in four colours – dark green, wine red, grey, and black – and in all sizes from XXS to XXL.

The Liverpool Echo reports that its water-repellent finish and seamless windproof design make it well-suited to handle the UK’s unpredictable weather. It boasts warm, premium down with a fill power of 75+, a hood, and an extra cushioned collar for added warmth around the neckline.

Additionally, its fleece-lined pockets provide extra cosiness on particularly cold days. With its cocoon shape and front placket design, this coat is both stylish and practical for braving the elements.

It has received an impressive 4.7-star rating from over 300 reviews on Uniqlo’s website, with one satisfied customer who purchased the coat in black saying: “I love this jacket so much. Very light. I feel very warm. 100 percent recommend.”

Another satisfied customer shared their enthusiasm, saying: “Lightweight and practical down jacket to wear. Very warm! Feminine size and cut. I recommend!!”

A third, who opted for the light grey coat, commented: “This down jacket is not only beautiful, but also very warm and comfortable!” However, they noted a minor issue for their stature: “The sleeves are a bit long for my height (162 cm).”

Some shoppers did find that the ‘straight’ cut of the jacket made it too snug around the hips. One customer mentioned: “Having a down jacket of the same model but dating back several years, I wanted to buy the same model again. Surprise, the down jacket is in a straight size, so it’s very good if your hips are not wider than your shoulders (and even then). I checked that it was for women: yes… disappointed, it doesn’t fit me and is too tight at the hips.”

Despite these points, many are raving about this Uniqlo down jacket. A happy shopper exclaimed: “This is the second jacket I have bought like this one, I have the light-coloured one from 2024 and the black one from 2024, they are just amazing. Water resistant just enough for London/Amsterdam drizzling days, windproof and warm! My favourites!”
