Scotland’s “best log cabins with hot tubs” have been named ahead of Valentine’s Day.
As we enter Valentine’s week, you don’t have long to pick out a gift for your significant other. While the Daily Record has previously rounded up some of the best last-minute Valentine’s Day ideas in Scotland, you can’t go wrong surprising your partner with a scenic getaway.
Cottages and Castles has shared a list of the best cabin rentals across Scotland that feature hot tubs. From the Scottish Borders to the Highlands, the experts included lodges from all around the country.
Among the cabins singled out by Cottages and Castles is Lomond View in Langbank. As the name suggests, the lodge is situated against the backdrop of Ben Lomond and offers sweeping views of woodland, hills, and water.
Sleeping two guests, Lomond View features a super king-size bed and a living space with a television. Outside, it benefits from a deck with a table and chairs for al fresco dining
Cottages and Castles wrote: “Its outdoor hot tub is the perfect spot to take in the beauty of Scotland, whether at sunrise or under a canopy of stars. The cabin’s modern interiors are complemented by a warm, homely atmosphere, featuring plush furnishings and an electric fire.”
Elsewhere, the experts included Rascarrel Bay Retreat in Castle Douglas on their roundup. The Dumfries and Galloway cabin is tucked along the shores of the private Rascarrel Bay, and is surrounded by around 200 miles of coastline.
Cottages and Castles stated: “Inside, soft coastal tones and wall-to-wall windows create a calming atmosphere with breathtaking sea views, while the open-plan living space, complete with plush sofas, is ideal for cosy evenings. Outside, enjoy alfresco dining on the deck or soak in the private hot tub under twinkling mood lighting, making every moment unforgettable.”
Meanwhile, also appearing on the experts’ list is Pentland Lodge in Peebles. Situated in the Scottish Borders, just a short drive from Edinburgh, the cabin includes an open-plan living area with a “well-equipped” kitchen, a lounge, and a dining space with garden views.
Pentland Lodge was praised for its “stylish” and “lovely outlooks”. Its “jacuzzi-style bath” was also singled out, as well as its private hot tub.
Other accommodation options included on the roundup are Falnash Lodge in Teviothead and The Sandpiper near St Andrews. The former earned acclaim for its “stunning views” and “romantic” ambience, while The Sandpiper was described as a “beautiful log cabin” and praised for its open-plan living space.
