Pete Wicks sent a touching message to his best mate and podcast co-star Sam Thompson as Valentine’s Day approaches. During the latest instalment of their podcast ‘Staying Relevant’, Pete began by checking in on Sam, who assured he was fine.
Not stopping there, the former Strictly Come Dancing contestant reassured his friend that he’s “always here” for him, saying: “I love you and you can call me at any point, especially at the minute and this weekend.”
He continued: “Anything you need to speak to me about, you can do.”
Confused, former Made in Chelsea star Sam asked why Pete was specifically bringing up the weekend, leading Pete to clarify: “No I’m just saying in general, at any point, you can talk to me about anything you need.”
He then advised listeners to look out for their single friends over the weekend, hinting at the challenges of Valentine’s Day, reports Lancs Live.
Upon realising the reference to Valentine’s Day, Sam reacted with surprise and concern about his plans, exclaiming: “What the f*** am I going to do this weekend? No, I’m worrying about it now.”
Ex-TOWIE star Pete comforted him, saying: “I’m here for you, the whole team is here for you,” Sam retorted that he felt lonely and accused Pete of not being there for him since his house still felt empty and Pete never visited.
In a light-hearted response, Pete quipped: “It just reeks of desperation at the minute and that’s part of the reason, but it’s ok, I’m here.”
Grilled by Sam about his plans for the day, the reality TV personality mentioned he would be “on call” for him. The Made In Chelsea celebrity reportedly ended his long-term relationship with Zara McDermott in December after half a decade together.
A source disclosed to Mail Online: “It’s been an incredibly difficult decision for them to part ways, they still care and have a lot of love for each other.”
They added: “But after a tough year of working hard at their romance, they have split and will be focusing on their individual careers going forward into 2025.
“There has been no scandal or fallout between them, it’s just the result of a difficult year, where they both had to spend a lot of time focused on their own projects.”
Sam nor Zara have publicly addressed the reason for their breakup, but he did acknowledge last month it had been “a real tough month” In a prior interaction with Pete, he jokingly criticised his best mate for his absence during hard times, leading to Pete’s apology.
