Voters in next month’s Broxburn, Uphall and Winchburgh Ward By-Election will have a choice of seven candidates.

The vote will take place in the West Lothian ward on Thursday, March 13.

A by-election is to be held in West Lothian in March this year following the retirement of Councillor Diane Calder.

It will be the third By-Election in the local authority area since August 2024.

It comes after the long-standing SNP councillor announced her retirement, and decision to stand down just before Christmas.

The candidates in alphabetical order are, Frank Anderson – Alba Party; June Andrews – Scottish Labour Party; Mike Carlin – Scottish National Party (SNP); Chris Cotter – Scottish Greens; Oliver Thomas Ferrario – Scottish Liberal Democrats; David McLennan – Reform UK; and Marnie Taylor – Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.

Polling places on the day will be situated at Dechmont Memorial Hall, Ecclesmachan Community Hall, Uphall Community Centre, Uphall South Parish Church Hall, Kirkhill Primary, Strathbrock Partnership Centre, Broxburn Primary School, Broxburn Sports Centre, Winchburgh Primary, and Winchburgh Community Centre.
