A woman was rushed to hospital after being hit by a car in Hamilton this morning.
Police were called to the incident at around 7.35am and closed Carlisle Road for around two hours while emergency services worked at the scene.
The pedestrian was taken to University Hospital Wishaw for treatment.
Drivers were being urged to take alternative routes but the road has now reopened.
A police spokesperson said: “Around 7.35am on Tuesday, February 11 we were called to a report of a woman struck by a car.
“The female pedestrian was taken to University Hospital Wishaw and enquiries are continuing.”
