All of the individuals rescued are safe, according to the Austin Fire Department.

AUSTIN, Texas — A group of people and a dog are safe after reports that their tent was swept away during Tuesday’s rain in Austin.

The Austin Fire Department (AFD) said around 11:40 a.m. that firefighters were responding to a water rescue in the 1100 block of South First Street, near East Bouldin Creek, after a caller reported a tent was swept downstream with people possibly inside.

Shortly after, AFD said firefighters had removed three adults and a dog from swift moving water. All of the people and the dog are safe, and AFD said there were no injuries to report.

No additional information is available at this time.
