Meghan Markle has finally spoken out after leaving Prince Harry at the Invictus Games to return home. The Duchess of Sussex took to Instagram Stories to share a video with her 1.7 million followers.

The clip showed her and Harry hand in hand, bundled up against the cold and strolling in the snow at an event in Whistler, Vancouver.

In their final appearance before she jets off back to California, Meghan looked chic in cream boots, a long black coat, a knitted beanie and dark sunglasses as she participated in the Games’ sporting activities.

Following the clip of her and Harry walking from behind, Meghan posted a playful video of her gearing up for tubing – a sport that involves sitting on a rubber ring and sliding down a snowy slope.

The Duchess seemed apprehensive and admitted she was too scared to do it, but after some encouragement from Harry, she let go and zoomed down the hill. Meghan can be heard screaming while Harry chuckles behind the camera, reminding her to keep her feet up.

The social media posts came just hours after it was announced that Meghan would be flying home today to reunite with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilbet. Harry is now attending the Games alone and was seen presenting medals to the victorious competitors today.

Meghan, 43, has been in Vancouver for five days, attending the multi-sport competition alongside Harry, 40. Her travel plans were kept hush-hush due to security reasons, but it’s understood that her departure today was always on the cards, reports the Mirror.

Harry is set to remain at the Games until after Sunday’s closing ceremony. The couple put on a united front during the first few days of the competition, which celebrates injured servicemen and women.

Meghan was by Harry’s side during the opening ceremony in Vancouver, where they shared a kiss in the stands. The Duchess has been sharing her experiences at the Games on her new Instagram account, posting stories of her meeting competitors’ children and zipping around the stadium during the opening ceremony on a golf buggy.

On Monday, the pair were spotted enjoying beers as they watched winter sports in Whistler. Harry even playfully teased his wife during a speech, inviting her on stage and joking that she would sing for the audience.

Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, is reported to be making her way back to California to reunite with her children Archie and Lilibet, after having expressed missing them during the Invictus Games. Earlier in the week, she had a candid chat with competitors about longing for her kids.

Alaska natives Cynthia Phelps, 39, James Phelps, 44, and their baby girl Laramie, aged seven months, met Meghan and Prince Harry for breakfast at their Vancouver hotel on Saturday. Cynthia had another opportunity to speak to Meghan following a wheelchair basketball game on Sunday, where Meghan lovingly held little Laramie.

Recounting her conversation with the Duchess, Cynthia remarked: “I was just talking to Meghan about her kids. She said her kids were at home and she missed them and she was excited to see a baby that was so happy. She said she misses them and remembers when they were young. She said [Laramie] was a very happy baby.”

The Invictus Games are set to conclude on Sunday with a grand closing ceremony featuring artists Jelly Roll and the Bare Naked Ladies. Prince Harry is expected to remain in Canada for the entire event and deliver a closing speech.

The Duke of Sussex, who served as a captain in the British Army, founded the Invictus Games in 2014 to host an international sporting competition for wounded service members and veterans.
