The stage is set for a massive night at Celtic Park as Gerrman giants Bayern Munich visit in the Champions League playoffs. Harry Kane and co will turn up with a point to prove in Glasgow after missing out on a top-eight finish. But Brendan Rodgers’ men will be looking to produce a shock before the return leg in the Allianz Arena in six days’ time.
The Treble-chasing boss saw his charges defeat Raith Rovers on Saturday night to book their place in the Scottish Cup quarter-finals. He named a much-changed side where only hat-trick hero Daizen Medea and skipper Callum McGregor remained in the side for the 5-0 victory over the second-tier outfit from the team that hit Dundee for six in their last league game.
Celtic fans will hope to see re-signed winger Jota sprinkle some of his magic as they dream of big nights in European competition again. Juventus 2013 will be a somewhat distant memory for the Parkhead faithful, but can Rodgers help them bring back some credibility in European competition, both for the team and himself? Here, Record Sport tells you everything you need to know ahead of the Champions League blockbuster.

Team news

Kasper Schmeichel is back in the fold after missing the weekend’s 5-0 win with a minor back issue. Veteran winger James Forrest remains sidelined.
Vincent Kompany could be without four first-team stars for the trip to Glasgow. Canadian speedster Alphonso Davies has failed to recover in time after sustaining a hamstring blow in last month’s defeat to Feyenoord. Joao Palhinha is also sidelined as he struggles to overcome the illness that ruled him out of Bayern’s 3-0 win over Bremen last Friday. Back-up keeper Daniel Peretz is back in training after suffering a kidney contusion but won’t be included in the matchday squad. Japanese defender Hiroki Ito is unlikely to be thrown into the deep end as he works towards his comeback from a broken metatarsal.
