Wynne Evans is reportedly gearing up to take legal action in hopes of securing “recompense” after his reputation took a severe hit amidst the fallout of his recent scandal.

The Strictly Come Dancing celeb withdrew from the tour upon facing backlash for an inappropriate comment directed at tour host Janette Manrara during a Birmingham launch event photocall.

A clip surfaced showing him using the offensive term “spit roast” when Janette joined the group for a picture—a phrase with sexual connotations.

A source claims that Wynne is set on seeking “some recompense” due to the damage sustained by his public image after the video’s circulation.

“He said he is going to a tribunal with the BBC and will fight with every breath in his body. Wynne feels he has been treated unfairly and won’t go down without a fight,” the insider disclosed to The Sun.

The source detailed Wynne’s intention to contest what he deems an unfair dismissal, adding: “Wynne thinks he has a case for loss of earnings, as well as a potential breach of contract. He is being advised by a legal team and thinks he has a strong case to take forward.”

Our sister title The Mirror has reached out to both the BBC and a representative for Wynne Evans for a statement

Wynne’s popularity has taken a hit, and he’s also feeling the financial pinch from not participating in the Strictly tour. Moreover, his role as the face of Go Compare is reportedly hanging by a thread—a gig that turned him into a well-known figure.

An insider confided to the Mirror that Wynne was “in a bad way” over the uncertainty surrounding his career and feared “worried he could lose everything.”

This isn’t the first whisper of Wynne challenging the BBC. Earlier in the month, word spread that he had enlisted the services of top London law firm Russells to seek compensation for earnings he missed out on.

While public opinion is split regarding Wynne’s remarks to Janette, he himself has expressed regret for his behaviour and acknowledged that he’s stepping back from his professional engagements to focus on his mental health.

“I’ve agreed with the BBC that I’ll take some time out from my radio show and the Strictly Live tour, as well as my other public commitments, to prioritise my wellbeing,” he said in a statement.

He added: “I am deeply sorry for the pain my inappropriate actions have caused, and plan to take this time for self-reflection. Apologies to those I won’t get to see at the remaining performances and I’m grateful to my fellow tour gang for all the amazing support they have given me.”
