Netflix subscribers who are suckers for a good romantic flick are in for a treat as the UK streaming service now offers a delightful enemies-to-lovers film that’s certain to capture their hearts.

This effervescent comedy comes at no extra cost for those with an account and promises to sweep viewers off their feet.

The movie, which debuted back in 2021, is adapted from a bestselling novel that narrates the story of two colleagues who can barely stand each other yet find themselves engulfed by a powerful attraction.

While it didn’t garner universal acclaim, the film enjoys a respectable 69 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes and is passionately supported by fans arguing it’s one of the finest in its genre since the turn of the decade.

The Hating Game, featuring Lucy Hale and Austin Stowell, has arrived on Netflix just as Valentine’s Day approaches.

Audiences have sung its praises, with one five-star Google review stating: “This was a surprisingly good movie! The chemistry between Lucy Hale and Austin Stowell is so good!” and adding “I know sometimes these love/hate tropes can be slightly predictable, but this was cute. Just the right amount of cheesiness, chivalry, push and pull and then the characters getting together.”

A determined aficionado of Sally Thorne’s original work commented: “Just finished watching this and I loved it! The Hating Game is one of my favorite romance books and I was pretty satisfied with this movie”, reports the Express.

They continued, “I feel like they stayed true to the book and really brought it to life. I smiled, I swooned and I laughed. I want my own Joshua Templemann.

“Lucy Hale was so beautiful in this and Austin is so gorgeous. I think those that have read the book will be happy with how this turned out.”

A glowing five-star review on Letterboxd enthused: “Yes I’ve watched it twice in 24 hours and you know what??? I’ll probs watch it again.”

Another thrilled viewer shared: “I’m still feeling the endorphin rush. Ridiculously cute.

“A pretty accurate adaptation from the book, some lines were taken verbatim which is always a joy and the few adjustments made didn’t really bother me (this is a movie not a netflix season, time constraints ppl!)

“I need more such adaptations for more contemporary romance books.

“It is romantic, sexy and FULL of chemistry! FINALLY a romantic comedy I’d die for in 2021, they don’t make them like this anymore!”

Another fan exclaimed: “I don’t even regret watching it a third time in a row it’s that good and i have ZERO SHAME.”

And a final admirer said: “I don’t even know where to begin with this. I thought it was going to be absolutely utter dog s*** and it WAS NOT.

“You know those steamy wattpad books you used to read? This is exactly like if someone made a good one into a movie. It’s perfect. It’s genius. And it genuinely made me cry.”
