Strictly Come Dancing champion Chris McCausland has looked back on a particularly challenging move suggested by his dance partner Dianne Buswell that left him in pain during their victorious stint on the show.
Last year, BBC fans saw the comedian and his professional partner Dianne Buswell triumphantly hoist the Glitterball trophy on Strictly Come Dancing.
Throughout the competition, Chris wowed both viewers and judges with his consistent improvement. Despite making history as the first blind contestant to win the show, his path to victory was not without its hurdles.
Scheduled to appear on The Jonathan Ross Show this weekend (February 15), the Strictly victor is expected to discuss the most severe injury he suffered while competing. He admitted: “Dianne tried to do this move with me that she’d seen on TikTok.

“I had to pull her vertical body up straight and it literally ripped me apart from my left a*** cheek to my right shoulder.” The 47-year-old also shed light on the gruelling training regime that contestants endure, reports the Liverpool Echo.
He elaborates: “It’s eight hours a day, six days a week – it’s relentless. The first few weeks you pick up injuries that relate to the dance you’re doing.
“The jive – you feel like you’ve been on a mule for a week. The first time you do a bit of ballroom – your knees take it because you’re not used to it. It’s amazing more people don’t get injured permanently on that show.”

As Chris and Dianne were declared the winners of the series, the pair became emotional, as Chris revealed they had planned to walk off arm-in-arm but were overwhelmed with emotion.
Having secured the Glitterball trophy, Chris was asked if he might consider competing on Dancing on Ice next, to which he responded: “I said on Strictly that you’re capable of more than people think, but I didn’t really mean it.”
He humorously added, “Even I’ve got a line, I would literally be in a double cast within an hour. I do not ice skate.”

Although ice skating may not be in his future, Chris shared that his family thoroughly enjoyed watching him on the popular BBC show.
He said: “My wife and my daughter watched it at home. My daughter really got into it. She was so nervous, I think she fed off my anxiety.
“She was so nervous on the first episode that it wouldn’t work or I’d make a fool of myself or fall over or something. When we did that first move where we danced off, she burst out crying and missed the whole thing!”
The Jonathan Ross Show airs Saturday on ITV1, ITVX, STV and STV Player from 9:35pm
