Katie Price has shared her concerns for her son Harvey Price’s health due to his weight. The former glamour model became emotional as she disclosed plans to put her 28-stone son, who suffers from a rare genetic condition causing constant hunger, on Ozempic weight-loss injections.

Katie, 46, is worried that without intervention, her eldest son, 22, could face life-threatening consequences due to his escalating weight. She revealed that leading doctors have recommended the injections for Harvey in the hope they could enhance and potentially save his life.

Katie admitted the situation with Harvey is “really serious” and highlighted his risk of heart attack. The mother-of-five openly discussed how Harvey’s condition currently prevents him from losing weight.

Speaking to the Sun, Katie said: “He’s putting on weight. It doesn’t matter what we do. He can’t put his shoes on without sweating. He can’t walk far because he gets out of breath.”

She attributed these issues to his weight and stated that doctors suggested the injections to improve his health and longevity. Harvey suffers from several debilitating conditions including autism, septo-optic dysplasia, ADHD and oppositional defiant disorder, reports the Mirror.

Katie expressed her belief in the injection treatment, noting its weekly administration allows for immediate cessation should any adverse effects occur. “We’ve tried food, he’s had dieticians, it’s just the way he is,” she added, assuring it won’t interfere with any of his other medications.

The reality TV sensation has revealed that medical professionals are keen for Harvey to test a weight-loss jab over a period of “one or two years” while they monitor his progress. Dr Zoe Williams pointed out: “A recognised symptom of Prader-Willi syndrome is an everyday constant insatiable hunger and desire to eat which is more pronounced than most of us will ever experience. Managing weight is practically impossible so it makes sense that medical teams would consider weight-loss injections as a therapy for these patients.”

She went on to say that in some instances, when the injections are combined with other elements of clinical treatment, they have the potential to be life-saving.

Last month saw Katie Price being forced to refute speculation she was using the jab after fans commented on her noticeable weight loss. Addressing the rumours on Rob Moore’s podcast ‘Disruptors’, she clarified that ceasing IVF treatment was actually behind her recent change in physique: “So people have said I’ve lost loads of weight. Now there’s a programme coming out in January, my IVF journey. Anyone you know who’s had IVF, you put on weight. I had three IVFs the past 15 months. They all failed.”

She also attributed her weight fluctuation to an injury, saying: “It started from when I broke my feet. They said I’d never run again. So I couldn’t run, wasn’t exercising, couldn’t ride my horses, so basically, I was in a wheelchair for 10 months.”

When quizzed about weight loss injections, she confessed to having no personal experience but revealed her son Harvey was set to begin the treatment. She explained: “No, but Harvey’s going on that. So I’ve had to sit there with the doctors. I think when it comes to things like that, I think because of Harvey and all the medication and that he has, I think people have to be really careful with things like that.”

She added, “I don’t need it. I never have done. I’ve always been skinny. Look at old pictures of me. Always been tiny.”
