Sir Andy Murray sat down together for a blether on Sir Chris Hoy’s podcast Sporting Misadventures and the pair were left in stitches when sharing their stories.
The Scots tennis star hung up his racket for the final time after the Paris Olympics last summer, and has been trying out new sporting hobbies to take up his time.
Andy told a tale of how he had to be rescued from a mountain whilst on a skiing trip with his family.
The 37-year-old recently hit the Swiss Alps with his wife Kim, their four children and in-laws at the start of the year, and the trip was anything but smooth sailing.
Andy admitted he had given up and threw himself to the ground and continued to go down on his “a**e” before he reached a restaurant and was saved by the Mountain Rescue Team.
“I had to get rescued on one of those Ski-Doos. The rescue team are snapping because usually it’s drunk British people at the end of the day that have got stuck up the mountain and thats not really their job, they’re there to help people who are injured and hurt.”
After Andy’s story, Chris just had to share his story about a drugs test mishap. The retired cyclist went on to tell a story of a former teammate.
He said: “It was the end of the day, his mates were all waiting to go in the car but he still hadn’t done his drugs test. He was doing the same thing as you, standing there trying to do his sample and… as he pushed… it all just came out.
“He still had his cycling shorts on but they were down round his ankles. He did the sample, finished the drugs test, handed it to the guy… pulled up his shorts… and said to the guy: ‘I bet this happens all the time’.
“The guy was like ‘No, it doesn’t’. But he was so embarrassed that he just pulled up his shorts, signed the thing and just got out of there, jumped in the car and headed off. His mates in the car were like ‘Have you farted? ! ‘ And he didn’t tell them until they were halfway out on the road.”
The story left the pair in fits of laughter with Hoy commenting: “I’m not sure this will make the cut either!”
