Daisy May Cooper, known for her role as Kerrie in BBC’s This Country, claims she was held hostage by a Hollywood psychic who demanded she pay £550 to have a curse removed. The actress visited the medium while visiting Los Angeles earlier this year to hold meetings on future projects.

The 38-year-old went to a home in Santa Monica, known for being a celeb hangout spot, to receive a reading. She was dropped off at the house by her boyfriend, Anthony Huggins.

“Ant dropped me off and she said, ‘Is that your partner? You’ll be with him forever… but you shouldn’t be.’” Daisy told The Mirror. “She locked me in her house and said I had a curse and I had to pay her $700 dollars to remove the curse. And I paid it.”

Mum-of-three Daisy has previously confessed her fascination with the afterlife and frequenting mediums – even going as far as to admit she tried to have sex with a ghost. She added: “I’ve been had, haven’t I? I’m curse-free… but I’m worried about my partner.”

Last year, Daisy released a second memoir, Hexy Bitch: Tales from My Life, the Afterlife, and Beyond, which showcases her infatuation with an afterlife. Despite what the psychic said, Daisy and Ant’s relationship has been going from strength to strength – with the two believed to be engaged.

Daisy let slip the exciting news on her Instagram stories when she called him her ‘fiance’. The pair also welcomed their son into the world last June.

For her book, Daisy said: “I know that talking about this stuff still feels very taboo. But for as long as I can remember I’ve been fascinated by the unexplained. I’ve explored haunted houses, interrogated experts who claim they can communicate with the other side, and investigated paganism, which turned out to be a front for swinging.”
