A 38-year-old New Jersey man was shot dead on a residential street in Brooklyn early Thursday, police said.
The victim, Brandon Sylvester, is from Englewood. It wasn’t immediately clear why he was in Brooklyn.
He was shot in the chest at about 1:15 a.m. during a confrontation on Beverly Road near E. 58th St.
Police said Sylvester was inside the gate outside the home when he was shot.
Medics rushed him to Kings County Hospital but he could not be saved.
