Sir Rod Stewart had fans giggling once again as he took part in an interview at Celtic Park ahead of the Hoops’ game against Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
The rocker, whose love for Celtic is no secret, took part in a pitch-side interview with CBS hosts Kate Scott, Thierry Henry, Jamie Carragher, and Micah Richards and it wasn’t long before he had the hosts in fits of laughter.
The 80-year-old also joined Peter Schmeichel, whose son Kasper is the Celtic keeper, and after being serenaded by a thrilled Carragher, Rod went on to reveal that “he’d had a couple” before the game.
From jokingly telling the stadium announcers to “shut up” so he could speak, to not knowing who Micah Richards was – calling him ‘Big Knees’ instead of Big Meeks and then “Micah Thing” – Sir Rod had the hosts laughing away before jokingly winding up Peter, who was trying to keep the interview going by referring to him as Gordon Banks, writes Glasgow Live.
The hilarious clip has gone viral on social media platform ‘X’, as the rock legend followed up his hilarious and chaotic 2017 Scottish Cup draw appearance .
Rod appeared to be a natural on camera and the singer gushed about his beloved club, stating that it’s one “like no other” and calling his fellow fans “wonderful”.
However, the result wasn’t in favour of Celtic as the Scottish champs went down 2-1 on the night despite a late rally.
The star admitted he wouldn’t make the second leg in Munich as he’ll be on tour in Atlantic City, but confirmed his son Alastair was going.
A made -up Jamie Carragher was delighted to sing a duet of Maggie May with the famous rocker, before revealing he had previously met Sir Rod and his son at a charity event.
The former Liverpool star also went on to state that his mum was Sir Rod’s biggest fan and that she used to have a framed picture of him in a Celtic kit in her house instead of Jamie in his Liverpool top.
