(Gray News) – Denny’s is closing dozens more locations than previously announced as part of a plan to jumpstart growth.
A CNN report stated the struggling restaurant chain is closing an additional 30 restaurants on top of the 150 locations they announced last year were shutting down.
CNN cited an earnings report from the company released Wednesday. It was revealed in the report that Denny’s closed 88 locations in 2024 and plans to close between 70 to 90 locations this year.
A list of the impacted locations has not yet been released.
Denny’s said some of the restaurants were chosen because they had expiring leases, were open for more than 30 years, or were in areas that had become “unprofitable.”
Inflation and rising food costs have caused problems for Denny’s in the last few years, according to CNN.
