WORCESTER, Mass. (WBZ) – The owner of a gold Tesla Cybertruck in Massachusetts said he has been experiencing bullying and threats over his vehicle choice.

Dr. Kumait Jaroje said he found a profane sticker plastered on the back of his Cybertruck last week. The words are too derogatory to repeat.

Jaroje said he is now nervous about his safety as well as the safety of his children. He said his wife was horrified at the sticker.

“She was horrified. She was like crying, screaming out of her throat, ‘Don’t ever drive that cyber truck anymore,’” Jaroje said.

When he posted about what happened on social media, Jaroje said instead of sympathy and concern, even more hateful messages flooded his comments.

He says the harassment over his Cybertruck started after Tesla CEO Elon Musk endorsed President Donald Trump. Musk is now the head of the new Department of Government Efficiency.

Jaroje is also worried about other drivers on the road trying to cause a collision.

“Somebody tried to cut me off while I’m driving with my kids, and three guys came out of the car. And just pointed the middle finger and start screaming at me,” he said.

The Cybertruck’s unique gold color serves as a walking billboard for Jaroje’s medical spa that he built from the ground up three years ago.

“It’s a fancy, funky car that I think attracts a lot of attention,” he said.

As a Syrian immigrant, Jaroje said he is proud of following his dreams.

“I pursued my dream, you know, and now I’m enjoying the free speech, but with this taking a different turn, that made me very concerned,” he said.

Due to the harassment, Jaroje said he tried to trade in the Cybertruck, but with no luck.

He sent Tesla a photo of the hateful sticker that someone put on his vehicle, but a representative said Tesla is not accepting Cybertruck trade-ins at the moment.

Jaroje said he hopes the community will set aside judgment and be open to differences in opinion.

“If you disagree, don’t retaliate. Don’t be violent. Don’t try to hurt your neighbor, you know, we’re all human,” he said.
