Hollywood actor Gerard Butler was spotted reuniting with his family in Edinburgh.

After attending a Six Nations Rugby match at Murrayfield Stadium at the weekend, the Scots star joined his close relatives for a meal at a local restaurant.

The 300 actor’s niece, Katy Butler, shared a photo with her uncle on social media this week, captioning it “Fam reunion.” The duo sat close together, flashing big, cheerful smiles.

Gerard was in town to watch the Six Nations game between Scotland and Ireland – although he might have been a wee bit disappointed that Ireland won following a 32-18 victory.

Fans quickly reacted to the star’s family reunion, sharing their thoughts online. One user on X, formerly known as Twitter, commented, “Gerry loves his family very much; he is a truly good person.”

As another stated: “Wonderful”, while a third added: “Awww that is a nice photo.”

Earlier in the weekend, Gerard welcomed the 300 cyclists riding in honour of rugby legend Doddie Weir, raising funds for motor neurone disease research.

The actor welcomed the Doddie’s Grand Tour team upon their arrival at Glenalmond College in Perthshire. He chatted and signed autographs with the tour leaders Rob Wainwright, Mark Beaumont, Gordon D’Arcy and the rest of the team.

The Paisley-born star headed to the rugby, cheering on the Bravehearts in the stands with the rest of the fans. As he sported a turtle neck jumper and thick blazer like coat, tackling the cold air head on.

Gerard is no stranger to the Scottish sporting world, as the Hollywood actor regularly visits Celtic FC’s Parkhead.
