PRINCETON, W.Va. – After just two years as Princeton Senior High School’s head football coach, Keith Taylor resigned Friday morning.
Initial reports came in late Thursday night from Tyler Jackson, formerly of Lootpress, that Taylor and other coahces had left the program.
After reaching out to the school for confirmation on Thursday, it said that “it cannot verify [Tyler Jackson’s claims] to be completely true” and that “it must just be a rumor”.
However, those rumors turned true Friday morning after Taylor told WVVA of his resignation.
Taylor over his two-year coaching stretch led the Tigers to their best run in school history, going 24-3 (including playoffs) falling in the AAA state championship game in 2023 to Martinsburg, going undefeated in the regular season, and then falling in the state semifinals in 2024 to Herbert Hoover.
Taylor had a storied career as a Princeton Tiger player and was inducted into the school’s Hall of Fame in January.
For reasoning on his departure, Taylor texted WVVA: “I’m just trying to follow God’s will for my life. Simple as that”. The program will now look for a new head coach heading into 2025 among other vacancies on the staff
