A 19-year-old woman and a 2-year-old boy were fatally stabbed Saturday night in an apartment in West Haven, Conn., authorities said.
A suspect in the case, an unidentified male, was arrested, the Connecticut Post reported. The victims have not yet been publicly identified.
Officers responded to an apartment complex in the New Haven suburb just before 9 p.m. Saturday after several residents reported a woman screaming, according to News 12 Connecticut.
The callers also said a man had leapt through a glass window on the second story of the complex and landed on a walkway near the entrance, local ABC affiliate WTNH reported.
Cops entered an apartment and found the 19-year-old woman and 2-year-old boy dead from multiple stab wounds, according to local CBS affiliate WFSB. Officers found the man injured on the walkway and transported him to a local hospital.
While police said a suspect was in custody, they did not explicitly confirm it was the man who jumped from the second-floor window, the CT Post reported.
Authorities released no information on other circumstances of the stabbings or a possible motive for the attacks. West Haven police are investigating along with the Milford State’s Attorney Office.
