Where does Rangers’ win at Tynecastle leave Philippe Clement?

KEITH JACKSON: Exactly where he was this time last week. A busted flush and a lame duck all rolled into one. That he remains at the helm merely demonstrates that the board is also dysfunctional and unfit for purpose.

ANDY NEWPORT: Still clinging on to his job. The Ibrox faithful have long since made their minds up on the beleaguered Belgian and this won’t change anything.

MICHAEL GANNON: The same place he was before the game – in the football shadow realm. Clement has gone way past the shoogly nail stage and nothing is going to change it.

GAVIN BERRY: The same as he was before trip to Gorgie – on a 90-minute rolling contract which should have expired before now. He’ll just keep lurching from one game until the next until the inevitable decision is finally made.

Jota ramped up his Celtic comeback with another goal against Dundee United – is it time to let him loose on Bayern Munich?

KEITH: Yes. He’s clearly chomping at the bit and bursting to get a start against Bayern. Jota on the left, Kuhn on the right and Maeda through the middle. That’s how to carry the fight to the Germans.

ANDY: Celtic will need all the firepower they can muster if they are to achieve a result that would rank up there with the best a Scottish side has ever achieved in Europe. Kuhn and Meada are the form men at Parkhead and adding Jota to that frontline would certainly give Rodgers’ team plenty of threat.

MICHAEL: It will be tempting but it would make sense to leave Daizen Maeda on the flank to keep Bayern at bay for as long as possible and if it’s tight with half an hour to go then launch on Jota and go for broke.

GAVIN: The Portuguese star is a must for the Allianz Arena. Brendan Rodgers needs someone to conjure up a bit of magic in Bavaria and he is the man for that – with Daizen Maeda causing chaos up top.

Aberdeen are back up to third after finally ending their 98-day wait for a Premiership win – do you expect them to hold on this time?

KEITH: No. In order to nail down their place as the best of the rest they’re going to have to get themselves back on a run of results. Right now they’ve got a job on their hands simply staying in the top six.

ANDY: It’s too soon to tell. It was certainly a much-needed boost for Jimmy Thelin and his players but they have some tricky fixtures coming up.

Whatever happens, it will be nip and tuck all the way to May.

MICHAEL: Too early to say. Aberdeen badly needed to halt the slide and are now back in the fight. But Dundee United can come back and Hibs and Hearts are coming up the rails. It’s going to be a cracking scrap.

GAVIN: I wouldn’t be getting the bunting out just yet. They have a tough game against Killie up next at home and then a daunting trip to Celtic. They’re not out of the woods and need to go on a proper run.

Only two league wins in the last 11 for second bottom Dundee, are they now in a dog fight with basement boys St Johnstone?

KEITH: This slump seems to have come out of nowhere but it’s not time to hit the panic button yet. Tony Docherty has done an outstanding job at the helm and is only four points behind old mate Derek McInnes whose Kilmarnock side sit in sixth spot.

ANDY: Dundee are in a funk alright but they’ve got a kind run coming up with Ross County, Motherwell, St Johnstone and Hearts next up. Get some points from those fixtures and it could ease their worries.

MICHAEL: Saints are sunk but Dundee are in a proper battle to get out of the play-off danger. The Dens men are a decent side but they need to stop shipping silly goals or they will be in bother.

GAVIN: The next four games will tell us so much. They’re all against bottom six sides, including those either side of them, and that will define their season.
