TV personality Kim Woodburn has had to step away from her work commitments after undergoing emergency eye surgery.
The television star updated her followers on Instagram with a simple message: “We regret to tell you that Kim is unable to record further videos until Friday 7th March.”
Accompanying the announcement was an image featuring plain black text on a grey backdrop, and her team clarified in the post caption: “Due to surgery to eye.”
The 82-year-old opted not to share specifics about the nature of her eye surgery. Nonetheless, her supportive fans took no time in sending their kind regards and hopes for a swift recovery.
Comments such as “Hope you’re okay dear Kim. Wishing you a speedy recovery,” and “Get well soon, Kim. Sending love,” adorned her post, alongside hearts and get-well emojis.
Despite the recent setback being health-related, this isn’t Kim’s first significant medical intervention.
The How Clean Is Your House star disclosed that in 2022, she underwent throat surgery.
Kim has since confirmed she had to have an operation due to a “very bad disc” in her neck which she says was affecting her hands.
The star reassured fans, though, saying she was “not ill” and is instead “as fit as a fiddle.”
She said: “It’s been all over the papers. I am not ill. I’ll show you what’s wrong with me.
“I had a very bad disc in the back of my neck and it was affecting my hands, so I haven’t been able to use them. So, I went to the hospital on Wednesday, and the doctor cut my throat with a big gash in my neck, he took out the disc in this hole in my neck and put a titanium disc in.
“How he did it I don’t know. I’ve had calls from America, ‘Kim, Kim, oh Kim’s ill’. No, it’s a few hours after my surgery, its painful, I’ve got stitches. They sent me home and I’m as fit as a fiddle.”
“I’ve got about four or five weeks to rest but I’ve got this big cut-throat. Mind you, it’s not stopped me talking”, she told GB news.
